  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/4 c. self-rising flour
  • 1/2 c. nuts
  • maraschino cherries
  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 3/4 c. crushed corn flakes

    Cream shortening and sugar.

    Add eggs and milk; beat about 2 minutes.

    Add flour; beat well.

    Add vanilla.

    Drop 1/2 teaspoon of mixture in crushed corn flakes and roll; place on greased cookie sheet.

    Top each with 1/2 maraschino cherry.

    Bake at 375° for 10 minutes.

    Makes about 90 cookies.
