  • 2 2/3 c. Kellogg's corn flakes cereal
  • 2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. margarine or butter, softened
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. finely cut, pitted dates
  • 1/2 c. finely chopped maraschino cherries
  • 15 maraschino cherries, cut into quarters

Directions

    Crush corn flakes cereal to measure 1 1/3 cups; set aside. Stir together flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.

    In large mixing bowl, beat margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.

    Add eggs and beat well.

    Stir in milk and vanilla.

    Add flour mixture. Mix until well combined.

    Stir in nuts, dates and chopped cherries.
