- 1 1/2 c. white sugar
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 heaping Tbsp. cornstarch or flour
- 1/2 c. soft butter
- 1 c. thick cream (whipping cream is fine)
- 2 Tbsp. white Karo syrup
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar (to which cornstarch and nutmeg has been added).

2Add Karo syrup and beaten egg yolks, then cream. Pour in 9-inch pie shell and bake at 400° until done.

3Check pie by inserting knife in center of pie, when knife comes out clean, pie is done.

4Beat the egg whites and add 1 tablespoon sugar for each white, adding gradually when whites are stiff.

5Keep beating while adding sugar.

6Spread over pie being sure the edges are sealed good.

7Bake until lightly browned.

8(This is a delicious pie but rich.

9Cut in real small pieces.)
