Chestnut Dressing(Turkey)

- 2 lb. chestnuts
- 1 Tbsp. cooking oil
- 6 c. soft bread crumbs
- 1/2 c. melted butter
- 1 Tbsp. minced onion
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. chopped celery
- dash of pepper
Directions

1Make two 1/2-inch slits with a sharp knife in the shell of each chestnut.

2Place them in a deep saucepan with the oil and cook slowly for 5 minutes, shaking the pan frequently.

3Then bake in a very hot oven (400°) for 5 minutes.

4Remove and cool.

5Peel nuts and mash the nuts and add to the bread crumbs which have been blended with all the ingredients.

6Stuff turkey lightly.
