Chicken And Broccoli Braid

  • 2 c. diced, cooked chicken meat
  • 1 c. fresh chopped broccoli
  • 1/2 c. red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 clove crushed garlic
  • 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 c. mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp. dried dill weed
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. diced onion
  • 1 egg white, beaten
  • 2 Tbsp. blanched slivered almonds
  • 2 (8 oz.) pkg. refrigerated crescent rolls

    Preheat oven to 375°.

    In large bowl, combine chicken, broccoli, bell pepper, garlic, cheese, mayonnaise, dill, salt, almond and onion.

    Unroll crescent rolls onto a baking sheet; lay horizontally.

    Press the perforations in the dough to create a solid sheet.

    Arrange mixture horizontally down center of dough. Using a knife, cut vertical lines every 3-inches from the center (strips should remain attached to center).

    Lift right and left strips opposite one another to make a braid; twist once and pinch together.

    Brush with egg white.

    Bake 25 to 28 minutes until golden brown.
