- 6 c. ground cooked chicken breast
- 3/4 c. oats (uncooked)
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
- vegetable oil
- 15 to 20 whole cloves
- 1/3 c. brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 c. cold water
- 2 c. pineapple juice
- 1/4 c. lemon juice
Directions

1Combine first 5 ingredients, mixing well; shape into 1-inch balls.

2Fry in a small amount of hot oil over medium heat until brown.

3Drain on paper towels.

4Tie whole cloves in cheesecloth and set aside.

5Combine 1/3 cup brown sugar and cornstarch in a large saucepan.

6Gradually add water, stirring until smooth.

7Add pineapple juice and lemon juice; cook, stirring constantly, until smooth and thick.

8Add meatballs and whole cloves.

9Simmer on low 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove cheesecloth bag.

10Makes 4 1/2 dozen.
