- 1 (2 1/2 to 3 1/2 lb.) fryer, cut up
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 1/2 c. chopped green onion
- 1/2 c. chopped celery
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 (4 oz.) can button mushrooms
- 1 1/2 c. canned tomatoes, strained
- 1/2 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- 1/2 c. dry sherry
- 2 tsp. sugar
- salt and pepper
- 2 1/2 c. water
- 3/4 lb. spaghetti
Directions

1Brown chicken in oil over medium heat; remove chicken.

2Add onion and celery; fry slowly 15 minutes.

3Stir in mushrooms, tomatoes, tomato paste, sherry, sugar and seasonings.

4Add water and chicken; cook over low heat until chicken is tender.

5Cook spaghetti; then remove chicken from sauce and place in serving dish.

6Pour remaining sauce over drained spaghetti.
