- 1 (2 1/2 to 3 lb.) fryer
- 2 c. reserved broth
- 1 can undiluted cream of chicken soup
- 1 stick melted margarine
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
- 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Cook chicken until tender.

2Remove from bone.

3Reserve broth. In a saucepan, mix broth and soup and bring to a boil.

4In a bowl, combine margarine, pepper, flour and buttermilk.

5Pour broth over chicken in 9 x 12 x 2-inch pan.

6Spoon batter evenly on top.

7Bake at 425° for 25 to 30 minutes, until crust is browned.
