Chicken Pop Overs

  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups canned chicken
  • 16 ounces dinner rolls
  • 6 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1 can cream of chicken
  • 1/2 cup milk

Directions

    Cream together cream cheese, butter, and pepper. Add chicken. Flatten each roll and spread the cream cheese mixture over half of the roll leaving a little space at the edges. Fold the rest of the roll over the half with the cream cheese spread and pinch the edges to close.

    Dip each roll in the melted butter then in crumbs. Place on a greased cookie sheet

    Bake at 375 for 15-20 minutes. Serve with gravy

    Variations: I always add garlic or garlic salt to the cream cheese mixture. Chives are good in it if you have some. You can add onions by sauteing them in butter until they are transparent and adding them to the cream cheese mixture as well
