- 3 whole chicken breasts, cut in half
- salt and pepper
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 c. Sauterne wine
- 1/2 c. sliced water chestnuts
- 1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms, drained
- 1/4 tsp. thyme
- hot cooked rice
Directions

1Sprinkle chicken breasts with salt and pepper.

2Brown slowly in butter.

3Place chicken breasts in shallow baking dish.

4Reserve drippings.

5Add soup to drippings.

6Slowly add wine.

7Stir until smooth.

8Add remaining ingredients, except rice.

9Heat to boiling. Pour over chicken.

10Cover and bake at 350° for 25 minutes. Uncover.

11Bake an additional 25 minutes until tender.

12Serve over rice if desired.
