- 2 c. sifted flour
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. cooking oil
- 6 eggs, separated
- 3/4 c. water
- 2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
Directions

1Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.

2Make a well in the center and add oil, egg yolks, oil and water.

3Beat until smooth. Set aside.

4In a separate bowl, beat egg whites with cream of tartar until very stiff and able to be cut with a knife. Pour egg yolk mixture over whipped egg whites and fold in gently. Do not stir.

5Bake in three 8-inch layer pans lined with waxed paper at 350° for 25 minutes.
