- 1 c. egg whites (7 or 8)
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 2 c. sifted flour
- 1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 7 unbeaten egg yolks
- 3/4 c. water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. cooking oil
Directions

1Whip egg whites and cream of tartar until very stiff peaks are formed.

2Sift flour, sugar, salt and baking powder into large bowl. Make a well in center of flour.

3Add oil, egg yolks, water and vanilla.

4Beat with wooden spoon until smooth.

5Gradually pour egg yolk mixture over beaten egg whites.

6Fold gently.

7Put in tube pan and bake at 325° to 350° for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
