Chile Rellenos Casserole

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 (4 oz.) cans green chiles, cut in halves crosswise and seeded
  • 1 1/2 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/4 tsp. bottled hot pepper sauce

Directions

    Brown meat and onion together. Layer chiles, cheese, meat and chiles in a 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Mix together flour, salt, eggs, milk and hot pepper sauce.

    Pour over.

    Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes.

    Cool before cutting.
