Ingredients

  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes with juice
  • 1 large onion, cut in pieces
  • 1 large green pepper, cut in pieces
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 3 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 (15 oz.) can red kidney beans with liquid

    Use food processor and finely chop the clove of garlic.

    Brown garlic with ground beef.

    Put tomatoes, onion and green pepper in blender; blend well.

    Onions and green pepper will be larger pieces, so don't blend too much.

    Add to meat in skillet.

    Add tomato paste and seasonings.

    Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer and cook 1 hour.

    Add kidney beans; heat through.

    Serve with oyster crackers or crusty French bread.
