- 5 lb. ground beef
- 2 Tbsp. salad oil
- water (to cover)
- 4 medium onions, chopped
- 1/3 to 1/2 c. chili powder
- 6 bay leaves
- 1/2 (2 oz.) bottle hot sauce
- 6 chili peppers, chopped
- 1 (14 oz.) bottle catsup
- 2/3 c. steak sauce
- 1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
- dash of garlic powder
- dash of onion salt
- 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
- 2 (16 oz.) cans tomatoes
- salt and pepper to taste
- tomato juice (optional)
- 6 (16 oz.) cans kidney beans (optional)
Directions

1Brown ground beef in salad oil in heavy pan.

2Add water.

3Add remaining ingredients (except tomato juice).

4Cover and simmer over low heat for about 2 hours, stirring frequently.

5If additional liquid is needed, add tomato juice.

6Serve hot with crackers. Yield:
