Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Portuguese sausage
  • 3 lb. ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 2 (16 oz.) cans stewed tomatoes
  • 3 (16 oz.) cans chili con carne
  • 1 (16 oz.) can corn
  • 1/2 c. catsup
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 2 bay leaves
  • pinch of oregano leaves
  • pinch of basil leaves
  • 4 Tbsp. chili powder

    Slice sausage.

    Brown sausage, ground beef and onion.

    Lower the heat to simmer.

    Drain the oil from meats.

    Add remaining ingredients to meats.

    Simmer for 2 to 3 hours.

    Season to taste. Makes a big pot . . . enough to feed 12 hungry basketball players.
