- 1 lb. ground beef
- 3/4 c. chopped green pepper
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, cut up
- 1 (16 oz.) can dark red or spicy kidney beans, drained
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 2 tsp. chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. dried basil, crushed
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
Directions

1In a large kettle, cook ground beef, green pepper, onion and garlic until meat is browned.

2Drain off fat.

3Stir in undrained tomatoes, kidney beans, tomato sauce, chili powder, basil and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.

4Bring to boiling.

5Add bouillon cube.

6Reduce heat; cover and simmer about 20 minutes.

7Makes 4 to 6 servings.
