- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 medium onion
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 1/2 Tbsp. chili powder
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
- 1 c. water
Directions

1Heat shortening in a saucepan.

2Add onion, beef and salt. Cook slowly for 5 minutes occasionally.

3Stir in chili powder, flour, tomatoes and water.

4Cover and cook over low heat for 1 1/2 hours.

5Stir occasionally.

6Add more water, if needed.
