- ground meat
- 2 cans stewed tomatoes
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cans dark red kidney beans
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1/4 c. ketchup
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 or 2 cans tomato sauce
- water as needed
Directions

1Saute onion.

2Brown meat and drain.

3Add tomatoes, sauce, beans, chili, garlic powder, ketchup and salt and pepper to taste. Add 1 to 2 tomato cans of water.

4Cover and simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

5Add more tomato sauce and water, depending on consistency of chili as it simmers.

6Add additional 1/4 cup of ketchup to deepen red color of chili.
