Ingredients

  • 1 to 2 lb. hamburger
  • 1/2 to 3/4 c. chopped onion
  • 46 oz. can tomato juice
  • 15 oz. can red kidney beans
  • 15 oz. can chili hot beans
  • 10 oz. can diced tomatoes and green chilies
  • 1 stalk celery, chopped
  • 1/4 to 1/2 c. brown sugar (loose)
  • 1 to 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 to 2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1/4 c. cornstarch
  • 1/4 c. cool water

Directions

    Brown meat and onion until meat is browned.

    Add next 9 ingredients and cook at least 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

    Mix together cornstarch and water, stirring until smooth.

    Add to chili and cook about 15 minutes longer before serving.
