- 2 lb. pinto beans
- 1 (32 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 4 large cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. ground red pepper
- 2 lb. elk burger or hamburger
- 1 (16 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 2 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. cumin powder
- few shakes Tabasco sauce
Directions

1Cover beans with water and soak overnight.

2Drain water and cover with fresh water to an inch or so over beans.

3Add tomatoes, onion and garlic.

4Bring to boil, turn to medium-low heat.

5Cook until beans are almost done (adding water if needed).

6Add rest of spices.

7Brown meat, drain and add to beans.

8Add tomato sauce and simmer for 2 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
