Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground chuck
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 (16 oz.) cans tomatoes
  • 5 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. paprika
  • 1 1/2 tsp. ground cumin seed
  • 1 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper

Directions

    In large skillet, cook ground chuck, onion and garlic until meat is brown and onion and garlic are tender.

    Drain off fat. Return to heat.

    Add tomatoes and seasoning.

    Mix well.

    When bubbly, reduce heat to low.

    Cover and simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.

    Beans may be added, if desired (two 15 ounce cans pinto beans).

    If beans are added, simmer 15 minutes longer.
