- 1 lb. ground beef (lean)
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cans red kidney beans
- 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 bay leaf, broken
- 2 Tbsp. dry red wine
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
Directions

1Cook onion and garlic in nonstick spray in nonstick pan until limp.

2Remove from pan.

3Cook ground beef until crumbly and brown in same pan.

4Drain.

5Place kidney beans in colander.

6Rinse with cool water.

7Add rinsed beans and all other ingredients to saucepan.

8Stir, cover and simmer 1 hour.

9Add water, if necessary.

10Serve with crackers or hot tortillas.

11Serves 4.

12Can be frozen.

13To reheat, place in baking dish and bake at 350° for 25 minutes.
