  • 3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 to 2 lb. beef round steak, cut 1-inch thick
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
  • 1 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    In cup combine flour, salt, chili powder and pepper.

    Trim excess fat from meat.

    Cut into six pieces.

    Place meat on board and sprinkle with flour mixture. Pound into meat on both sides.
