Chili Cornbread

- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 2/3 c. chopped onion
- 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 Tbsp. shortening (or omit)
- 3 tsp. chili powder
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 can chili beans
- 1 1/2 c. (1 box) cornbread mix (I make 1/2 recipe from scratch)
Directions

1Brown meat and onion in melted shortening.

2Add seasoning, Worcestershire sauce and tomato sauce.

3Cover and simmer 15 minutes; add chili beans.

4Pour into greased casserole.

5Top with cornbread batter and bake for 20 minutes at 250°.

6Serves 6.
