Chili Rellenos Bake

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1 (4 oz.) can green chilies
  • 2 oz. American cheese (1/2 c.)
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • dash of pepper
  • dash of hot pepper sauce

Directions

    Brown beef and onion; drain fat.

    Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper.

    Split peppers and remove seeds.
  4. 4
    Lay half of chilies on the bottom of a shallow dish.

    Sprinkle with cheese; top with meat. Arrange rest of chilies over meat.

    Add milk to flour, salt, pepper, eggs and hot pepper sauce.

    Bake at 350° for 50 to 55 minutes or until an inserted knife comes out clean.

    Pour off fat; cool 5 minutes.
