Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 (16 oz.) kidney beans, undrained
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 large green pepper, chopped
  • 6 to 8 drops hot sauce (red)
  • 6 c. chopped lettuce
  • 8 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder or to taste
  • salt and pepper (black)
  • grated medium sharp Cheddar cheese
  • diced tomato
  • sour cream
  • tortilla chips

Directions

    Cook ground chuck, onion and green pepper in microwave.

    Put meat mixture in a large skillet on medium-high heat and add kidney beans, hot sauce, tomato sauce, salt, black pepper and chili powder.

    Bring to a boil.

    Turn heat down and simmer until thick. Remove from heat and cool slightly.

    Mix with lettuce.
