- 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 1 (16 oz.) can pinto or kidney beans
- 2 c. water
- 1 (16 oz.) can chopped tomatoes
- 2 tsp. chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 bay leaf
Directions

1In saucepan, brown beef,

2onion and garlic.

3Break up meat and drain fat.

4Stir in remaining ingredients and heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low.

5Cover and simmer 15 minutes or until flavors blend.

6Discard bay leaf.

7Makes 7 cups.
