- 4 c. walnut halves
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 6 c. water
Directions

1Bring the water to a boil; add the walnuts.

2Return to boil and boil for 1 minute.

3Drain.

4Dump into large bowl with the sugar; stir to coat well.

5Heat 1 inch of oil to 350°.

6Fry half of the nuts at a time until golden brown.

7Stir occasionally to keep from sticking.

8Drain on a foil-covered cookie sheet.

9(Don't use paper towels.)
