- 1 1/4 c. flour
- 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- dash of salt
- 1/2 c. margarine, softened
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate, cut in chunks
- 2 (3 1/2 oz.) jars macadamia nuts (1 3/4 c.) or 1 3/4 c. walnuts, coarsely chopped
Directions

1In large mixing bowl, stir together flour, margarine, brown sugar, sugar, egg, water, vanilla, baking soda and salt.

2Beat with electric mixer on low speed until combined, scraping bowl occasionally.

3Stir in chopped chocolate and nuts.

4Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto an ungreased large cookie sheet.

5Using spatula, flatten each cookie to a 2 1/2-inch round.

6Bake at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown. Cool on cookie sheet 1 minute.

7Transfer cookies to wire rack and cool.

8Makes 30 to 36 cookies.
