Chocolate Bread Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf white bread (less 5 slices)
  • 1 can fruit cocktail (11 oz. can)
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 oz. baking chocolate or 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Break bread into small pieces.

    Soak in fruit cocktail juice and water.

    Mix eggs, sugar and butter and beat until fluffy. Melt chocolate with milk in double boiler.

    Add all ingredients to bread.

    Stir in fruit cocktail, baking powder and vanilla.

    Cook for 45 minutes in 375° oven.

    Cook in a 7 x 11-inch pan.

    Cool and serve.
