- 3 1/2 ounces plain chocolate
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 7 tablespoons butter
- 2 eggs
- 5/8 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 9/16 ounce vanilla essence

Directions

1Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

2Line and grease a square cake pan.

3Melt the butter and chocolate and leave to cool.

4In a bowl, beat the sugar, egg and milk.

5In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, vanilla, salt, and baking powder. Add the butter and chocolate to the liquid mixture. Add the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients, a little at a time, and mix well until it forms a smooth batter.

6Place the mixture in a pan, smooth until level and bake for 30 minutes; the cake should be still soft and moist.

7Leave to cool and then cut into square chunks.

8Cover each piece with chocolate icing.
