- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- salt to taste
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 c. cocoa
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 c. water
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Mix first 5 ingredients together.

2Bring to a rapid boil the cocoa, margarine, Crisco, buttermilk and water.

3Gradually beat this hot mixture into the dry ingredients to blend.

4Add eggs and vanilla.

5Beat to blend.

6Pour into a greased and floured 15 x 10-inch jelly roll pan.

7Bake at 400° for 20 minutes.

8Remove and at once spread the frosting.

9Cool.
