  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour (self-rising)
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1/2 c. oil or shortening
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 6 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 box powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Sift together in a large bowl sugar and flour.

    Mix and boil rapidly for 2 to 3 minutes the 1 stick oleo, oil or shortening, 4 tablespoons cocoa and water.

    Pour boiling mixture over flour and sugar.

    Mix well.

    Add buttermilk, soda, cinnamon, eggs and vanilla.

    Bake about 25 minutes at 350°.

    Five minutes before cake is done, mix 1 stick oleo, 4 tablespoons cocoa and milk.

    Bring to a boil and add powdered sugar and vanilla.

    Spread on cake while hot.
