- 2 oz. chocolate
- 1/4 lb. butter
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. cake flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Preheat the oven to 350°.

2Butter and flour two 8-inch round cake pans.

3Melt chocolate in a small pot or bowl over simmering water; set aside to cool.

4Cream the butter; slowly beat in the sugar until light.

5Add the eggs and vanilla, mixing well.

6Add the chocolate; combine thoroughly.

7Mix flour, baking soda and salt; add to the first mixture and blend.

8Add 1 cup ice water; beat until smooth.

9Pour into pans and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
