  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 3 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

    Sift sugar and flour together.

    Boil boiling water, oleo, shortening and cocoa.

    Bring to rolling boil and pour over sugar and flour.

    Mix well.

    Add eggs, buttermilk and soda, add vanilla just before mixing.

    Mix well and pour into 13 x 9 x 2-inch greased pan.

    Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until done.
