  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2/3 c. shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Mix sugar, shortening and eggs well.

    Mix in dry ingredients, then add milk slowly.

    Bake in 9 x 13 greased pan for 35 minutes at 350°.
