  • 2 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 11/16 cup butter cut into pieces
  • 1 3/8 cups brown sugar
  • 15/16 cup cocoa bittersweet
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons baking soda
  • milk 3 dl.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 drops lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • ground cinnamon
  • ground cloves

    Preheat the oven to 180C.

    Beat the butter with the brown sugar until creamy and foamy.

    Add the baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and the vanilla extract. Add the eggs one at a time.

    Sift together 330 grams of the flour and the cocoa. Mix the lemon juice in with the milk, and add both the flour/cocoa mixture and the milk/lemon mixture to the butter/sugar mixture, a little at a time, alternating between them.

    Pour the batter into a 24 centimeter buttered and floured cake pan.

    Bake the cake for approximately 40 minutes.

    Remove the cake from the oven, cool it completely and serve it sprinkled with powdered sugar.
