- 1/4 c. butter or oleo
- 1/2 c. dark corn syrup
- 6 Tbsp. baking cocoa
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 3 1/4 c. confectioners sugar, divided
- 3/4 c. nonfat dry milk powder
Directions

1In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.

2Stir in corn syrup and cocoa and bring to a boil.

3Remove from heat and add vanilla, 2 cups sugar and the powdered milk.

4(Mixture will be stiff.)

5Turn out onto a surface lightly dusted with confectioners sugar.

6Knead in remaining sugar.

7Knead 3 to 4 minutes until stiff.

8Divide into 4 pieces and roll each into an 18-inch rope. Cut into 3/4-inch pieces.

9Wrap and store in refrigerator.

10Makes 8 dozen.
