- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1/3 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. margarine or butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1 1/4 c. self-rising flour
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions

1Preheat oven to 375°.

2Grease and flour a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Mix sugar, margarine and vanilla.

3Beat in egg.

4Stir in flour. Mix in nuts and chocolate chips.

5Spread dough in pan.

6Bake until light brown, 12 to 14 minutes.

7Cool; cut into bars about 2 x 1 1/2-inches.

8Makes 3 dozen.
