Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding

  • 6 slices white bread
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened
  • 2 (13.5 oz) cans evaporated milk
  • 3 None eggs
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • None None heavy cream, to serve

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a large baking dish.

    Spread each slice of bread with butter. Cut into quarters, diagonally, then arrange in prepared dish, overlapping slightly.

    Whisk together evaporated milk, eggs, sugar and vanilla. Add chocolate chips then pour over bread. Set aside for 10 mins then place dish in a large roasting pan. Add enough boiling water to come halfway up sides of baking dish. Bake for 25-30 mins, until custard is just set. Let cool for 5 mins.
