- 1-1/2 cup flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 lb. butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Directions

1Preheat oven to 400F.

2Butter and lightly flour an 8-inch square cake pan.

3Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar together in a large bowl.

4Melt the butter in a small pan.

5Remove from the heat.

6Stir in the milk and the egg, beating well.

7Add to the flour mixture and blend.

8Stir in the chocolate chips.

9Pour into the pan and bake for 25 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.

10Cool in the pan for 5 minutes before turning out onto a rack.
