- 1 3/4 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 c. milk (whole)
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 Tbsp. margarine
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 (9-inch) deep crust baked pie shell
Directions

1Mix the first 4 ingredients; gradually stir in milk.

2Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens. Remove from heat.

3Mix small amount of mixture into egg yolks, then blend into hot mixture.

4Boil 1 minute longer.

5Remove from heat; blend in margarine and vanilla.

6Pour into baked crust.

7May be topped with whipped cream when cooled.
