Chocolate Crunch Bars

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 sq. unsweetened melted chocolate
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 pt. marshmallow cream
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
  • 1 c. peanut butter
  • 1 c. Rice Krispies

Directions

    Beat first 6 ingredients.

    Add the unsweetened chocolate and nuts and beat 1/2 minute more.

    Put in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan and bake at 350° for 15 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

    Remove from oven and, while bars are still warm, add marshmallow cream.

    Put in oven and bake another 3 minutes.

    Take out; spread the marshmallow cream and cool.

    When cool, melt chocolate chips with peanut butter.

    To this, add Rice Krispies. Spread over cooled bars and refrigerate.

    Freezes well.
