Chocolate Filled Marshmallow Bars Recipe

  • 6 c. puffed rice
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/3 c. chunk-style peanut butter
  • 32 lg. marshmallows
  • 1 (6 ounce.) pkg. chocolate chips

Directions

    Heat puffed rice in shallow pan in preheated oven at 350 degrees about 10 min.

    Pour into large, greased bowl.

    Combine butter, peanut butter, and marshmallows in top of double boiler.

    Heat over warm, not boiling, water till melted.

    Stir occasionally.

    Pour over puffed rice, stirring till all kernels are proportionately coated.

    Firmly press half of mix into greased 7 x 11 inch pan.

    Sprinkle chocolate chips over top.

    Place in preheated 350 degree oven 2 to 3 min or possibly till chocolate is softened.

    Remove from oven; spread chocolate with spatula.

    Press remaining puffed rice mix over chocolate.

    Cold; cut into bars.
