- 2 c. sugar
- 2 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions

1Combine first 4 ingredients in a heavy saucepan.

2Cook over low heat until chocolate and butter melt, stirring constantly. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils. Boil 1 minute, stirring constantly.

3Remove from heat; stir in vanilla.

4Beat at high speed of an electric mixer until of spreading consistency.

5Immediately spread on cake.

6Yield: enough for one 3-layer cake.
