  • 3 1/2 c. flour, sifted
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. butter or oleo
  • 6 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 c. nuts (optional)
  • 3/4 c. white Karo syrup
  • 1/2 c. sugar

Directions

    Sift all dry ingredients, except sugar.

    Cream butter and sugar and add syrup.

    Beat in all ingredients (dry).

    When thoroughly mixed, add nuts and work with hands until stiff dough is formed.
