- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/4 c. white Karo syrup
- 2 sq. baking chocolate
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Mix sugar, milk, syrup, chocolate and shortening in saucepan. Let come to boil, scraping sides until well dissolved.

2Boil 3 minutes or 220° on candy thermometer.

3Remove from heat.

4Let cool about 10 minutes.

5Add vanilla and beat until spreading consistency.

6(Can be thinned with milk or cream if allowed to get too thick.)

7Will ice 2 (9-inch) layers 1 1/2 times.

8Will ice 3 (9-inch) layers.

9Creamy and good.
