Chocolate Nut Icing

Ingredients

  • 2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 (13 oz.) can evaporated milk
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Cook the sugar with the butter and milk until they reach the soft ball stage.

    (To test, drop a few drops of the mixture into a cup of cold water and roll them between the thumb and first finger.)

    Add the chocolate chips and beat until the icing reaches a consistency for spreading.
  4. 4
    Just before icing the cake, fold in the nuts.
