Chocolate Oatmeal Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 c. butter or oleo
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 c. quick oats
  • 2 c. chocolate chips
  • 3/4 c. chopped walnuts

    Combine flour and cinnamon in a small bowl.

    Beat together butter, sugars and egg.

    Gradually beat in flour mixture.

    Stir in oats and half of chocolate chips and nuts.

    Spread in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Bake in a 350° oven for 22 to 28 minutes. Immediately sprinkle with remaining chocolate chips.

    Let stand 5 minutes or until chips are glassy and sprinkle with remaining nuts.
